Gatecrasher Disco Tech Generation - Burgundy T-Shirt - 2001
2 years is a long time in Clubland. Although this 2001 release came only 2 years after our first GC album (Disco-tech), because we were cranking up and out monthly campaigns for the ‘Church of What’s Happening Now’ in Sheffield, each an evolution of previous creative comms, as well as albums, summer sound systems and festivals etc, it felt like it had already been a long journey and one where the options we’d created within our own parameters maybe needed a kind of regroup.
The album design and campaign (and the album naming itself) for Discotech Generations was a deliberate consolidation of ideas and messaging on a trip that had started with similarly TDR-named Discotech back in the 20th century. In design terms it was a regroup, and this is the Jim Dandy shirt of that regrouping.
