Unsung Heroes of Hip Hop - Longsleeve T-Shirt
Rewind 1991… Along one of the many tangents orbiting away from the FON Records supernova in the early 90s was the floppy UK dance meets daisy age hip hop of the pops stemmed by the likes of Unity Records and the Mark Gamble (Rhythmatic) produced Subsonic 2. Subsonic 2 were going to be big. Their ‘Include Me Out’ album included additional production contributions from Gang Starr and Talkin’ Loud’s Incognito. But even with all 1991’s boxes ticked, Nottingham’s ‘Pet-Shop-Boys-doing-hip-hop’ (Guardian rather than Gangsta Rap) were too clever for their own good. Now, under the searchlight and off the radar, the whole Unsung Heroes of Hip Hop affair feels wonderfully and peculiarly, time-capsuled English… I’ll have an E please Bob, an E for Ealing Comedy.
Anyway, this was THE tee to wear when you had Ebeneezer Goode in your hair :-)
