TDR Sissy (Batteries Not Included) / UFOs are Real - Proof Print

Printed and published in Sheffield in 1996, in conjunction with the first Customised Terror UK (The Forum Sheffield) edit of the original Artists Space NYC show curated by Ronald Jones, a small number of A3 prints remixed the original 2m x 1m artworks for consumer friendly action.

Some were proofed separately where they had bespoke spot colours, but others such as this one with the (3D DRSissy™ and UFOs Are Real) which were printed CMYK / Process could be proofed / printed together and cropped to size separately. If you’re bothering to read this you probably know something about DRSissy™ but the UFOs are Real was a mix and match of UFO conspiracy theories and cigarette packaging. It looks quite clunky now but image sampling / remixing / editing was less precise  / lower resolution / smaller memory / steam powered technology at the end of the last century… which we were making work for us on vector-defficient image fuckery for people like Autechre).

UFO conspiracy theories work a deep vein of interest for us at this time with The Orb’s Blue Room and Biosphere’s Seti Project releases… watch the skies!

The prints were printed 2-up on A2 to cut down to A3.

This a printer’s proof with two of the designs pre-crop with the colour bar intact. Never previously available in this format being intended just to check print.
